For 2025, Ontario's publicly funded healthcare system supported approximately 15.27 million active OHIP-insured residents as of March 31, 2025. The system included approximately 37,442 physicians submitting OHIP claims, plus other OHIP-connected practitioners such as nurse practitioners, optometrists, midwives and dentists providing specific insured services. Ontario had 136 public hospital facilities in the 2024–25 Canada Health Act reporting definition, with approximately $26.47 billion paid for insured hospital services. In community care, the former 14 CCAC/HCCSS organizations had been consolidated into Ontario Health atHome, which provides home and community-care services, while Ontario also had 75 Community Health Centres (CHCs).
